The new VTEK design and construction brings major improvements, including:
A reduced rocker to give faster flat-water speed. The rudder has been moved forwards and the updated stern has a subtle keel to give greater control in the surf – whilst maintaining an excellent turning circle for the all-important rapid apex buoy turn! The increased volume in the bow section allows the ski to pop over waves with ease. The updated cockpit is super comfy, allowing you to put down all the power you have available in those choppy conditions whilst maintaining an efficient and correct paddling position. The super stiff carbon footplate allows you to apply maximum leg drive and create a powerful connection with your blade!

Super stable, super versatile and super fun 😎 – the complete all-round surfski!
At 53cm wide it offers great stability while maintaining a competitive speed for the paddlers who are new to paddling or require extra stability in surf or choppy conditions. Since its launch in 2021 it has enabled countless more paddlers from junior to masters level to get into paddling and join in with their team mates at Surf Life Saving and Ocean Ski competitions!
Due to the amazing success of our Hydrus GT, we realised there was a need for an even more stable ski. Finally, we have designed the Hydrus SPORT! Greater stability but by no means slow... and with the added benefit of the new VTEK construction to give enhanced performance at this level!
The new Hydrus SPORT is very forgiving in the surf and choppy conditions, making it ideal for paddlers who need that extra stability and confidence to enjoy their paddling without the constant fear of capsize! It's designed for those discovering the exciting world of surfski for the first time, as club training boats, and for the more advanced who still want to relax and have fun!
